Soph, your mom forwarded and as a food lover myself, I just wanted to comment on a few things! First of all I loved your blog and your passion for food! Also, I ALWAYS say I'm going to the "grocery"...even though in Fort Fun the grocery can be called the Grocery, toiletry, car parts store. ie meijer, walmart, etc. OK, here's something I just didn't agree with....a jar of garlic? Really Sophi? A freaking bulb of garlic costs about 33 cents...why not buy one everytime your out, even if you don't need one! Take it from a pure dago...you never fuck with jarred garlic! The bulbs are just better! Have you ever roasted a head of garlic? I'm telling you, cut a bulb in half and rub with olive oil, wrap in foil and bake for about an hour! spread on bread, mix with your sour cream as dip...or just eat it plain...it will melt in your mouth. Also, as an addition to your pantry section, capers! Yummy in almost anything...sauces, sanwiches, tuna...everything. Oh, and here's another tip from my great ancestors, olive oil for everything. Rub it on your dry hands in the winter and your sunburn in the summer. you can actually drink a tablespoon when you have a sore throat. My grandma swore olive oil for EVERYTHING! She once even told me to use it to polish my furniture! Oh, and congrats Sophi! I heard your ring is gorgeous and you and Zack are very happy! How cool! Talk to you soon! xoxo, donna fulkerson
Ok this has been bothering me since I first started reading your blog oh way back when. Um ok yesterday.
You have got to cook with fresh garlic chick. There is nothing like it. Hell perhaps your man would appreciate it on your err private parts if it were fresh!!!
