Magical food moment...

Here is yet another thing I love about food:
It always tells a story.
A certain flavor or the reminder of a certain dish can be nostalgic.  Avacado, sprinkled with cajun seasoning, reminds me of Zach and I spooning the green pulp (and spooning each other) in his old apartment. Raw salmon evokes memories of sushi dinners with my old friend Paul, caramel corn of my high school journalism class.
Or, a fantastic occasion can be marked by the food savored during it.  I'll always remember the peach martini I drank on a night out with Dan, or the first time Andy and I had tomato-basil-olive oil-buffalo mozzarella at Iguana Cafe. A cup of veggie chili marks a very ill decision a few summers back.
Every meal should have something to make it three-dimensional in the memory.

I'll remember this margarita trip with Nicole by the heart-shaped tortilla chip.
